EVERYTHING WE DO STARTS WITH THE BEES.
From raw honey and hive sales to almond pollination and ag exemption consultation — every product and service we offer is rooted in our love for beekeeping and our commitment to the health of honey bee populations.
WHAT WE OFFER
Crooked Creek Honey Farm has grown from a small backyard hobby into a multi-faceted beekeeping operation. Here is everything we do.
RAW LOCAL HONEY
Pure, unprocessed honey harvested from our hives in North Texas. Our honey reflects the seasons — wildflower, clover, and whatever is blooming across the region. Every jar is raw, unfiltered, and packed with natural flavor. Available at markets and directly from the farm.

NUCLEUS HIVES (NUCs)
Five-frame nucleus colonies with a laying queen, brood, honey stores, and nurse bees — everything a new colony needs to thrive. Ideal for first-time beekeepers, those seeking ag exemption, or experienced beekeepers expanding their apiaries. Available spring through early fall.

FULL-SIZE HIVES
Established, queen-right full-size colonies ready to produce. These are mature hives with drawn comb, a strong population, and a proven queen. A strong head start for beekeepers who want to skip the build-up phase.

ALMOND POLLINATION
Every February, we send our strongest hives to California to pollinate almond orchards. Commercial pollination is essential to the national food supply and is one of the most impactful services we provide. We prepare our colonies all winter to ensure they are strong enough for the trip.

AG EXEMPTION GUIDANCE
We qualified our 19.75-acre property for the Texas agricultural exemption through beekeeping and we are happy to share our experience. From hive requirements to documentation to working with the county appraisal district — we have been through it and can help you navigate the process.

BEEKEEPING EDUCATION
We are active members of three beekeeping associations and have spent over a decade learning from the best beekeepers in the country. We love helping newcomers get started — from choosing your first hive to understanding seasonal management to preparing for your first harvest.
Learn More →HONEST WORK. HONEST PRODUCTS.
We do not take shortcuts and we do not cut corners. Our honey is raw because that is how honey should be. Our hives are healthy because we test and treat for pests and disease. Our bees are strong because we manage them with care through every season.
When you buy honey from Crooked Creek, you know exactly where it came from. When you buy bees from us, you know they were raised by beekeepers who care about the health of every colony. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
We are not the biggest operation in Texas. But we are honest, we are consistent, and we stand behind everything we sell.

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR SERVICES
The things people ask us most.
Nucleus hives are typically available from spring through early fall. Full-size hives have more limited availability. We recommend reaching out early in the season to reserve yours. Contact us to check current availability.
Our honey is raw, unfiltered, and never heated. Store-bought honey is typically pasteurized and ultra-filtered, which removes the pollen, enzymes, and natural compounds that make raw honey special. Our honey tastes like the season it came from — because it is.
Yes, by appointment. Send us a message through our Contact page and we will set up a time for you to visit.
We do not offer formal classes, but we are always happy to share our knowledge. We are active in the Collin County Hobby Beekeepers Association, which offers educational programs for beginners. We can point you in the right direction. Get in touch.
Each winter, we prepare our strongest colonies for commercial pollination. In February, the hives are transported to almond orchards in California where they pollinate the almond crop. It is a critical service for the agricultural industry. Learn more about our pollination services.
Yes. In 2012, the Texas Legislature added beekeeping to the Texas Agriculture Code, extending agricultural exemption to beekeeping operations on 5 to 20 acres. We have been through the process ourselves and are happy to share what we learned. Read our guide.
